The wraparound porch buzzed with a beehive of activity beginning in the morning hours and continuing all day. With two sides screened in and two sides open, it accommodated a plethora of things to do. When breezes blew away some of the humidity, the porches made a comfortable retreat, whether sunny, rainy or anything in between. The rocking chairs and hammocks remained in constant use.
